U.S. transportation officials are providing a boost to electronic vehicles as they establish 48 EV corridors across the nation, and BMW is playing an important part in the process. Once established, the corridors will provide peace-of-mind driving to electric vehicle owners along 25,000 miles of highway spanning 35 states with assistance from states, utilities and vehicle manufacturers – of which BMW is one.

Recently, BMW of North America announced that the ChargeNow by EVgo programs – which includes including ChargeNow DC Fast — will expand to over 50 metropolitan areas across the United States. Currently, EVgo’s network offers more than 668 dual-port DC Fast charging stations that include supplemental support from Level 2 chargers, and there are plans to install at a minimum of 50 more to the program this year. EVgo strategically places their charging stations on well-traveled roads near dining and shopping destinations.
Once finished, the program’s expansion will offer over 92 percent of BMW i3, i8 and iPerformance vehicle owners with the chance to enroll in and take advantage of a program that has been tailored to their vehicle. After they enroll, drivers may easily locate EVgo chargers by using either the BMW Connected app or their in-vehicle navigation system. Enrolled BMW owners can use the ChargeNow card that came with their vehicle to access nearby EVgo stations, as well as ChargeNow by EVgo no-cost or reduced-cost public charging.
