Drivers can charge the X5 with a 220-volt charging station in about four hours or overnight with a 110-volt outlet. The xDrive45e comes standard with all-wheel drive and adaptive air suspension.

BMW also offers the X5 with a beefy 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 in the M50i trim. This model growls like a sports car and delivers 523 horsepower with a zero-to-60 time of 4.1 seconds – an impressive time for a mid-size crossover SUV. The M50i also has sport-tuned adaptive suspension with 20-inch wheels.

The X5 M trim comes with the same engine tuned to deliver 600 horsepower and a 3.8 zero-to-60 MPH time. BMW pairs this engine with 21-inch wheels. Drivers who add the Competition package to this model get an additional 17 horsepower and staggered 21 and 22-inch wheels.
