BMW i Vision Dynamics Offers a Look into BMW's EV Future

BMW continues to push ahead with its plans to provide pure electric power as a pillar of the company's vehicle lineup of the future, and the new BMW i Vision Dynamics Concept gives us an idea of what that entails. According to BMW, this four door Gran Coupe has a driving range of 373 miles, a top speed of 120 mph and can manage a 0-60 mph time of about 4.0 seconds.

So far, BMW isn't revealing much information about the vehicle's electric motors or battery pack beyond releasing those speed and range numbers. A Kelley Blue Book expert believes that we should focus on the vehicle's updated styling right now, since that shows us the future design direction of BMW's Gran Coupe series.

The i Vision Dynamics Concept boasts fluid contours, a long wheelbase, a flowing roofline and short overhangs to emphasize its clean, elegant shape, The classic BMW twin kidney grille gets a state-of-the-art update, thanks to added sensors that allow the grille to collect data that is critical to the vehicle's semi-autonomous operation.

In a press release, Harald Krüger, Chairman of the Board of Management and Chief Executive Officer, noted, "At the BMW Group, the future of electric mobility has already arrived. We have more electrified vehicles on the road than any established competitor and are committed to expanding our activities…by 2025 we will be offering 25 models with an electrified drive system, of which 12 will be pure electric."
